Elegant Nuptials at The Gwen – Devina + Joel

Devina and Joel hosted their elegant nuptials at The Gwen, a Luxury Collection in downtown Chicago. Their wedding was a true international affair, bringing together family from all over the world. Close to 50 of Devina’s family members flew in from Indonesia, while Joel’s family came from South America. As you can imagine there was a good bit of language difference, making the celebration all the more memorable! These two lovebirds were brought together by fate when they bumped into each other at a Bull’s game. Joel was working at the game and Devina attending as a spectator. Phone numbers were exchanged and a romance soon began. Now they have a beautiful two month old daughter and are getting married! Devina is actually a photographer herself and designed the wedding invitations. These were then printed in Indonesia. How fun is it that the flowers on the invitation actually match her wedding bouquet?! The priest officiating over the wedding was Devina’s family’s priest from Indonesia and the wedding ceremony was the perfect blend of cultures. This was also reflected in their buffet dinner reception menu, which included a lechon bar and a taco station. One of Devina’s favorite details from the reception were the exquisite flowers hanging from the ceiling of the dance floor!
