Wedding at Chicago’s Thalia Hall – Matt + Taissa

A wedding held at a concert venue with a spectacular live band playing afterwards?! SIGN ME UP. Taissa and Matt’s wedding at Thalia Hall (photographed for Cage and Aquarium) has to be one of the most unique and cool weddings I’ve seen. The morning of the wedding, Matt got ready with his groomsmen at the couple’s home in Oak Park. They had decorated inside with festive lights and the guys all jubilantly took shots together to start the day off right! There was no official first look scheduled, but I happened to be standing outside when Taissa arrived in a trolly with the girls so she could get a picture with her cats. (the two are huge cat people, as you can tell from the card they’re holding down below!) After a beautiful ceremony in front of the stage at Thalia Hall and a delicious dinner, the band “The Heard” arrived to perform. Not only did the guests get to dance to amazing music, but they also got to see Matt himself go up on stage to sing a few songs for his bride! My favorite moment was when he knelt down at the edge of the stage to kiss Taissa at the end of a song. An absolutely stellar end to a beautiful day.
